Parent Expectations
All communication will be through the Mojo app unless there is an exceptional set of circumstances.
Please let us know well ahead of time if you cannot make a practice or a game.
Coaches/Managers are required to maintain control of their players and the team’s fans on the sideline. A coach or an assistant coach may be cautioned and/or ejected by a referee for the misconduct of a fan, so please behave.
Try to keep side line coaching to a minimum, we sometimes have to try new formations and tactics and kids may be confused by multiple inputs.
Keep it positive and let the coaches deal with the referees.
As coaches we appreciate input and questions the appropriate platform is on the mojo app. Try not distract during practices and games.
Player Expectations
Training Focus:
Training sessions incorporate conditioning aspects, and players are expected to give their best effort.
No dangerous play during training, including slide tackles from behind.
Maintain a positive attitude and uplift the team.
Commitment and Effort:
Always give your best; your performance reflects what you invest.
Do not use derogatory or foul language towards team mates and coaches.
Punctuality matters: Be on time for training to maximize your own time and contribute to the team.
Accountability:
Failing to meet expectations may result in corrective measures:
Reduced game time.
In certain circumstances, removal from the team.
In the EDPL league, playing time is earned through hard work and practice and is coach driven.
For tournaments, game time is earned (subject to tournament rules).
Uniforms
These are purchased before the season starts and for now the uniform purchase is done through the coach and we try to keep the costs down as much as possible.
Colored Jersey: This is typically the main jersey that represents the team’s colors.
White or Grey Light Jersey: Often used as an alternate jersey when playing against teams with similar colors.
Practice Jersey: Used during training sessions.
Black Shorts: Part of the uniform for games.
Socks: Essential for comfort and to complete the uniform.
Backpack (Optional): Some teams provide backpacks as part of the equipment.
Numbers: Player number will be assigned by the coach.
Ensuring that players have the correct size is crucial, especially for printed jerseys that are non-refundable.
Training Gear
Training jerseys are preferred for practice sessions. Players should bring their own cleats, water bottles, and a size 5 ball.
Having comfortable and appropriate gear ensures that players can focus on their training.
Game Day Rules
Wearing the correct uniform is essential for league play. The team listed first on the schedule wears the lighter-colored jersey and socks, while the second team wears the darker-colored ones.
